Two of Swords

A dear friend called me, distraught over an old story that was still haunting her and affecting a new relationship. She asked me to pull a card for her. I pulled the Two of Swords. She gasped; she had pulled that card herself. As we discussed the card the meaning became clear.

The blindfold suggests the need to look deeply within in order to regain balance. The card shows her struggle to control emotions, protecting her heart afraid of being hurt again. But the pain is also in the present because the fear of surrendering is blocking her tender heart. The choice is there, stay stuck in an old paradigm or open to a new story.
